| Jump Science Experiment Books introduce young children to basic science concepts and
principals. Toward accommodating their relatively short attention span, each subject
is covered in a terse, but interesting way. Minimum text, presented in large
type. Large, colorful pictures and simple experiments. Below are typical
two-page spreads. |

Jump Science: Experiment With Light
Topics are: What is Light? Sundials and Eclipses, a Nail hole Camera, Bending Light, Light
and Lens, Snap Happy (build a camera) Focus on Eyes, Optical Illusions, Mirror Magic,
Colors of the Rainbow, Color Disks, Worlds Without Color, and Color Television. The

Jump Science: Experiment With Weather
The Snow and Ice Experiment shown above requires filling a plastic bottle to the brim with
water, then putting it in the freezer. As the water freezes, the sides of the bottle
bulge and crack demonstrating the fact that water expands as it changes form. Makes
it a point of explaining that this characteristic can cause the water pipes inside your
house to break on a cold day. Other tops are: Sky Cycle, Weather Watch, Water in the
Air, Cloudy Skies, Rainy Days, Floodwaters, Howling Winds, Thunder and Lighting, Heat and
Drought, Changing Weather, Simple Seasons, and the Weather and You. |

Jump Science: Experiment With Magnetism and Electricity

are: What Are Magnets? Push or Pull? North and South, Magnetic Attraction,
Make or Break, Fields of Force (shown above) Power Base, Fantastic Static, Let it Flow,
Lighting Up, Conductors, Electromagnets, and Power Sources. |
